Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.
037.001
Waalssaffati saffan
YUSUFALI: By those who range themselves in ranks,
PICKTHAL: By those who set the ranks in battle order
SHAKIR: I swear by those who draw themselves out in ranks
KHALIFA: The arrangers in columns.
037.002
Faalzzajirati zajran
YUSUFALI: And so are strong in repelling (evil),
PICKTHAL: And those who drive away (the wicked) with reproof
SHAKIR: Then those who drive away with reproof,
KHALIFA: The blamers of those to be blamed.
037.003
Faalttaliyati thikran
YUSUFALI: And thus proclaim the Message (of Allah)!
PICKTHAL: And those who read (the Word) for a reminder,
SHAKIR: Then those who recite, being mindful,
KHALIFA: The reciters of the messages.
037.004
Inna ilahakum lawahidun
YUSUFALI: Verily, verily, your Allah is one!-
PICKTHAL: Lo! thy Lord is surely One;
SHAKIR: Most surely your Allah is One:
KHALIFA: Your god is only one.
037.005
Rabbu alssamawati waal-ardi wama
baynahuma warabbu almashariqi
YUSUFALI: Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all between them, and Lord of every
point at the rising of the sun!
PICKTHAL: Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all that is between them, and Lord of
the sun's risings.
SHAKIR: The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, and Lord of the
easts.
KHALIFA: The Lord of the heavens and the earth, and everything between them, and Lord of
the easts.
037.006
Inna zayyanna alssamaa alddunya
bizeenatin alkawakibi
YUSUFALI: We have indeed decked the lower heaven with beauty (in) the stars,-
PICKTHAL: Lo! We have adorned the lowest heaven with an ornament, the planets;
SHAKIR: Surely We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment, the stars,
KHALIFA: We have adorned the lowest heaven with adorning planets.
037.007
Wahifthan min kulli shaytanin maridin
YUSUFALI: (For beauty) and for guard against all obstinate rebellious evil spirits,
PICKTHAL: With security from every froward devil.
SHAKIR: And (there is) a safeguard against every rebellious Shaitan.
KHALIFA: We guarded it from every evil devil.
037.008
La yassammaAAoona ila almala-i al-aAAla wayuqthafoona
min kulli janibin
YUSUFALI: (So) they should not strain their ears in the direction of the Exalted Assembly
but be cast away from every side,
PICKTHAL: They cannot listen to the Highest Chiefs for they are pelted from every side,
SHAKIR: They cannot listen to the exalted assembly and they are thrown at from every side,
KHALIFA: They cannot spy on the High Society; they get bombarded from every side.

Duhooran walahum AAathabun wasibun
YUSUFALI: Repulsed, for they are under a perpetual penalty,
PICKTHAL: Outcast, and theirs is a perpetual torment;
SHAKIR: Being driven off, and for them is a perpetual chastisement,
KHALIFA: They have been condemned; they have incurred an eternal retribution.
037.010
Illa man khatifa alkhatfata faatbaAAahu shihabun thaqibun
YUSUFALI: Except such as snatch away something by stealth, and they are pursued by a
flaming fire, of piercing brightness.
PICKTHAL: Save him who snatcheth a fragment, and there pursueth him a piercing flame.
SHAKIR: Except him who snatches off but once, then there follows him a brightly shining
flame.
KHALIFA: If any of them ventures to charge the outer limits, he gets struck with a fierce
projectile.
037.011
Faistaftihim ahum ashaddu khalqan am man khalaqna inna khalaqnahum
min teenin lazibin
YUSUFALI: Just ask their opinion: are they the more difficult to create, or the (other)
beings We have created? Them have We created out of a sticky clay!
PICKTHAL: Then ask them (O Muhammad): Are they stronger as a creation, or those (others)
whom we have created? Lo! We created them of plastic clay.
SHAKIR: Then ask them whether they are stronger in creation or those (others) whom We have
created. Surely We created them of firm clay.
KHALIFA: Ask them, "Are they more difficult to create, or the other creations?"
We created them from wet mud.
037.012
Bal AAajibta wayaskharoona
YUSUFALI: Truly dost thou marvel, while they ridicule,
PICKTHAL: Nay, but thou dost marvel when they mock
SHAKIR: Nay! you wonder while they mock,
KHALIFA: While you are awed, they mock.
037.013
Wa-itha thukkiroo la yathkuroona
YUSUFALI: And, when they are admonished, pay no heed,-
PICKTHAL: And heed not when they are reminded,
SHAKIR: And when they are reminded, they mind not,
KHALIFA: When reminded, they take no heed.
037.014
Wa-itha raaw ayatan yastaskhiroona
YUSUFALI: And, when they see a Sign, turn it to mockery,
PICKTHAL: And seek to scoff when they behold a portent.
SHAKIR: And when they see a sign they incite one another to scoff,
KHALIFA: When they see proof, they ridicule it.

Waqaloo in hatha illa sihrun mubeenun
YUSUFALI: And say, "This is nothing but evident sorcery!
PICKTHAL: And they say: Lo! this is mere magic;
SHAKIR: And they say: This is nothing but clear magic:
KHALIFA: They say, "This is obviously magic!
037.016
A-itha mitna wakunna turaban waAAithaman
a-inna lamabAAoothoona
YUSUFALI: "What! when we die, and become dust and bones, shall we (then) be raised up
(again)
PICKTHAL: When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then, forsooth, be
raised (again)?
SHAKIR: What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then certainly be
raised,
KHALIFA: "After we die and become dust and bones, do we get resurrected?
037.017
Awa abaona al-awwaloona
YUSUFALI: "And also our fathers of old?"
PICKTHAL: And our forefathers?
SHAKIR: Or our fathers of yore?
KHALIFA: "Even our ancient ancestors?"
037.018
Qul naAAam waantum dakhiroona
YUSUFALI: Say thou: "Yea, and ye shall then be humiliated (on account of your
evil)."
PICKTHAL: Say (O Muhammad): Ye, in truth; and ye will be brought low.
SHAKIR: Say: Aye! and you shall be abject.
KHALIFA: Say, "Yes, you will be forcibly summoned."
037.019
Fa-innama hiya zajratun wahidatun fa-itha hum yanthuroona
YUSUFALI: Then it will be a single (compelling) cry; and behold, they will begin to see!
PICKTHAL: There is but one Shout, and lo! they behold,
SHAKIR: So it shall only be a single cry, when lo! they shall see.
KHALIFA: All it takes is one nudge, whereupon they (stand up) looking.
037.020
Waqaloo ya waylana hatha yawmu alddeeni
YUSUFALI: They will say, "Ah! Woe to us! This is the Day of Judgment!"
PICKTHAL: And say: Ah, woe for us! This is the Day of Judgment.
SHAKIR: And they shall say: O woe to us! this is the day of requital.
KHALIFA: They will say, "Woe to us; this is the Day of Judgment."
037.021
Hatha yawmu alfasli allathee kuntum bihi tukaththiboona
YUSUFALI: (A voice will say,) "This is the Day of Sorting Out, whose truth ye (once)
denied!"
PICKTHAL: This is the Day of Separation, which ye used to deny.
SHAKIR: This is the day of the judgment which you called a lie.
KHALIFA: This is the day of decision that you used to disbelieve in.

Ohshuroo allatheena thalamoo waazwajahum wama
kanoo yaAAbudoona
YUSUFALI: "Bring ye up", it shall be said, "The wrong-doers and their
wives, and the things they worshipped-
PICKTHAL: (And it is said unto the angels): Assemble those who did wrong, together with
their wives and what they used to worship
SHAKIR: Gather together those who were unjust and their associates, and what they used to
worship
KHALIFA: Summon the transgressors, and their spouses, and the idols they worshiped

Min dooni Allahi faihdoohum ila sirati aljaheemi
YUSUFALI: "Besides Allah, and lead them to the Way to the (Fierce) Fire!
PICKTHAL: Instead of Allah, and lead them to the path to hell;
SHAKIR: Besides Allah, then lead them to the way to hell.
KHALIFA: beside GOD, and guide them to the path of Hell.
037.024
Waqifoohum innahum masooloona
YUSUFALI: "But stop them, for they must be asked:
PICKTHAL: And stop them, for they must be questioned.
SHAKIR: And stop them, for they shall be questioned:
KHALIFA: Stop them, and ask them:

Ma lakum la tanasaroona
YUSUFALI: "'What is the matter with you that ye help not each other?'"
PICKTHAL: What aileth you that ye help not one another?
SHAKIR: What is the matter with you that you do not help each other?
KHALIFA: "Why do you not help one another?"
037.026
Bal humu alyawma mustaslimoona
YUSUFALI: Nay, but that day they shall submit (to Judgment);
PICKTHAL: Nay, but this day they make full submission.
SHAKIR: Nay! on that day they shall be submissive.
KHALIFA: They will be, on that day, totally submitting.
037.027
Waaqbala baAAduhum AAala baAAdin yatasaaloona
YUSUFALI: And they will turn to one another, and question one another.
PICKTHAL: And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning.
SHAKIR: And some of them shall advance towards others, questioning each other.
KHALIFA: They will come to each other, questioning and blaming one another.
037.028
Qaloo innakum kuntum ta/toonana AAani alyameeni
YUSUFALI: They will say: "It was ye who used to come to us from the right hand (of
power and authority)!"
PICKTHAL: They say: Lo! ye used to come unto us, imposing, (swearing that ye spoke the
truth).
SHAKIR: They shall say: Surely you used to come to us from the right side.
KHALIFA: They will say (to their leaders), "You used to come to us from the right
side."
037.029
Qaloo bal lam takoonoo mu/mineena
YUSUFALI: They will reply: "Nay, ye yourselves had no Faith!
PICKTHAL: They answer: Nay, but ye (yourselves) were not believers.
SHAKIR: They shall say: Nay, you (yourselves) were not believers;
KHALIFA: They will respond, "It is you who were not believers.
037.030
Wama kana lana AAalaykum min sultanin bal
kuntum qawman tagheena
YUSUFALI: "Nor had we any authority over you. Nay, it was ye who were a people in
obstinate rebellion!
PICKTHAL: We had no power over you, but ye were wayward folk.
SHAKIR: And we had no authority over you, but you were an inordinate people;
KHALIFA: "We never had any power over you; it is you who were wicked.
037.031
Fahaqqa AAalayna qawlu rabbina inna latha-iqoona
YUSUFALI: "So now has been proved true, against us, the word of our Lord that we
shall indeed (have to) taste (the punishment of our sins).
PICKTHAL: Now the Word of our Lord hath been fulfilled concerning us. Lo! we are about to
taste (the doom).
SHAKIR: So the sentence of our Lord has come to pass against us: (now) we shall surely
taste;
KHALIFA: "We justly incurred our Lord's judgment; now we have to suffer.
037.032
Faaghwaynakum inna kunna ghaweena
YUSUFALI: "We led you astray: for truly we were ourselves astray."
PICKTHAL: Thus we misled you. Lo! we were (ourselves) astray.
SHAKIR: So we led you astray, for we ourselves were erring.
KHALIFA: "We misled you, only because we were astray."
037.033
Fa-innahum yawma-ithin fee alAAathabi mushtarikoona
YUSUFALI: Truly, that Day, they will (all) share in the Penalty.
PICKTHAL: Then lo! this day they (both) are sharers in the doom.
SHAKIR: So they shall on that day be sharers in the chastisement one with another.
KHALIFA: Thus, together they will all partake of the retribution on that day.
037.034
Inna kathalika nafAAalu bialmujrimeena
YUSUFALI: Verily that is how We shall deal with Sinners.
PICKTHAL: Lo! thus deal We with the guilty.
SHAKIR: Surely thus do We deal with the guilty.
KHALIFA: This is how we requite the guilty.
037.035
Innahum kanoo itha qeela lahum la ilaha illa
Allahu yastakbiroona
YUSUFALI: For they, when they were told that there is no god except Allah, would puff
themselves up with Pride,
PICKTHAL: For when it was said unto them, There is no Allah save Allah, they were scornful
SHAKIR: Surely they used to behave proudly when it was said to them: There is no god but
Allah;
KHALIFA: When they were told, "Laa Elaaha Ella Allah [There is no other god beside
GOD]," they turned arrogant.
037.036
Wayaqooloona a-inna latarikoo alihatina lishaAAirin
majnoonin
YUSUFALI: And say: "What! shall we give up our gods for the sake of a Poet
possessed?"
PICKTHAL: And said: Shall we forsake our gods for a mad poet?
SHAKIR: And to say: What! shall we indeed give up our gods for the sake of a mad poet?
KHALIFA: They said, "Shall we leave our gods for the sake of a crazy poet?"
037.037
Bal jaa bialhaqqi wasaddaqa almursaleena
YUSUFALI: Nay! he has come with the (very) Truth, and he confirms (the Message of) the
messengers (before him).
PICKTHAL: Nay, but he brought the Truth, and he confirmed those sent (before him).
SHAKIR: Nay: he has come with the truth and verified the messengers.
KHALIFA: In fact, he has brought the truth, and has confirmed the messengers.
037.038
Innakum latha-iqoo alAAathabi al-aleemi
YUSUFALI: Ye shall indeed taste of the Grievous Penalty;-
PICKTHAL: Lo! (now) verily ye taste the painful doom -
SHAKIR: Most surely you will taste the painful punishment.
KHALIFA: Most assuredly, you will taste the most painful retribution.
037.039
Wama tujzawna illa ma kuntum taAAmaloona
YUSUFALI: But it will be no more than the retribution of (the Evil) that ye have wrought;-
PICKTHAL: Ye are requited naught save what ye did -
SHAKIR: And you shall not be rewarded except (for) what you did.
KHALIFA: You are requited only for what you have done.
037.040
Illa AAibada Allahi almukhlaseena
YUSUFALI: But the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah,-
PICKTHAL: Save single-minded slaves of Allah;
SHAKIR: Save the servants of Allah, the purified ones.
KHALIFA: Only GOD's servants who are absolutely devoted to Him alone (will be saved).
037.041
Ola-ika lahum rizqun maAAloomun
YUSUFALI: For them is a Sustenance determined,
PICKTHAL: For them there is a known provision,
SHAKIR: For them is a known sustenance,
KHALIFA: They have deserved provisions that are reserved specifically for them.
037.042
Fawakihu wahum mukramoona
YUSUFALI: Fruits (Delights); and they (shall enjoy) honour and dignity,
PICKTHAL: Fruits. And they will be honoured
SHAKIR: Fruits, and they shall be highly honored,
KHALIFA: All kinds of fruits. They will be honored.

Fee jannati alnnaAAeemi
YUSUFALI: In Gardens of Felicity,
PICKTHAL: In the Gardens of delight,
SHAKIR: In gardens of pleasure,
KHALIFA: In the gardens of bliss.
037.044
AAala sururin mutaqabileena
YUSUFALI: Facing each other on Thrones (of Dignity):
PICKTHAL: On couches facing one another;
SHAKIR: On thrones, facing each other.
KHALIFA: On furnishings close to one another.
037.045
Yutafu AAalayhim bika/sin min maAAeenin
YUSUFALI: Round will be passed to them a Cup from a clear-flowing fountain,
PICKTHAL: A cup from a gushing spring is brought round for them,
SHAKIR: A bowl shall be made to go round them from water running out of springs,
KHALIFA: Cups of pure drinks will be offered to them.
037.046
Baydaa laththatin lilshsharibeena
YUSUFALI: Crystal-white, of a taste delicious to those who drink (thereof),
PICKTHAL: White, delicious to the drinkers,
SHAKIR: White, delicious to those who drink.
KHALIFA: Clear and delicious for the drinkers.
037.047
La feeha ghawlun wala hum AAanha yunzafoona
YUSUFALI: Free from headiness; nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom.
PICKTHAL: Wherein there is no headache nor are they made mad thereby.
SHAKIR: There shall be no trouble in it, nor shall they be exhausted therewith.
KHALIFA: Never polluted, and never exhausted.
037.048
WaAAindahum qasiratu alttarfi AAeenun
YUSUFALI: And besides them will be chaste women, restraining their glances, with big eyes
(of wonder and beauty).
PICKTHAL: And with them are those of modest gaze, with lovely eyes,
SHAKIR: And with them shall be those who restrain the eyes, having beautiful eyes;
KHALIFA: With them will be wonderful companions.
037.049
Kaannahunna baydun maknoonun
YUSUFALI: As if they were (delicate) eggs closely guarded.
PICKTHAL: (Pure) as they were hidden eggs (of the ostrich).
SHAKIR: As if they were eggs carefully protected.
KHALIFA: Protected like fragile eggs.
037.050
Faaqbala baAAduhum AAala baAAdin yatasaaloona
YUSUFALI: Then they will turn to one another and question one another.
PICKTHAL: And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning.
SHAKIR: Then shall some of them advance to others, questioning each other.
KHALIFA: They will come to each other, and confer with one another.
037.051
Qala qa-ilun minhum innee kana lee qareenun
YUSUFALI: One of them will start the talk and say: "I had an intimate companion (on
the earth),
PICKTHAL: A speaker of them saith: Lo! I had a comrade
SHAKIR: A speaker from among them shall say: Surely I had a comrade of mine,
KHALIFA: One of them will say, "I used to have a friend.

Yaqoolu a-innaka lamina almusaddiqeena
YUSUFALI: "Who used to say, 'what! art thou amongst those who bear witness to the
Truth (of the Message)?
PICKTHAL: Who used to say: Art thou in truth of those who put faith (in his words)?
SHAKIR: Who said: What! are you indeed of those who accept (the truth)?
KHALIFA: "He used to mock: `Do you believe all this?
037.053
A-itha mitna wakunna turaban waAAithaman
a-inna lamadeenoona
YUSUFALI: "'When we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed receive rewards
and punishments?'"
PICKTHAL: Can we, when we are dead and have become mere dust and bones - can we (then)
verily be brought to book?
SHAKIR: What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then be certainly
brought to judgment?
KHALIFA: " `After we die and turn into dust and bones, do we get called to account?'

Qala hal antum muttaliAAoona
YUSUFALI: (A voice) said: "Would ye like to look down?"
PICKTHAL: He saith: Will ye look?
SHAKIR: He shall say: Will you look on?
KHALIFA: He will say, "Just take a look!"
037.055
FaittalaAAa faraahu fee sawa-i aljaheemi
YUSUFALI: He looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire.
PICKTHAL: Then looketh he and seeth him in the depth of hell.
SHAKIR: Then he looked down and saw him in the midst of hell.
KHALIFA: When he looks, he will see his friend in the heart of Hell.
037.056
Qala taAllahi in kidta laturdeeni
YUSUFALI: He said: "By Allah! thou wast little short of bringing me to perdition!
PICKTHAL: He saith: By Allah, thou verily didst all but cause my ruin,
SHAKIR: He shall say: By Allah! you had almost caused me to perish;
KHALIFA: He (will go to him and) say, "By GOD, you almost ruined me.
037.057
Walawla niAAmatu rabbee lakuntu mina almuhdareena
YUSUFALI: "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been
among those brought (there)!
PICKTHAL: And had it not been for the favour of my Lord, I too had been of those haled
forth (to doom).
SHAKIR: And had it not been for the favor of my Lord, I would certainly have been among
those brought up.
KHALIFA: "If it were not for my Lord's blessing, I would have been with you now.
037.058
Afama nahnu bimayyiteena
YUSUFALI: "Is it (the case) that we shall not die,
PICKTHAL: Are we then not to die
SHAKIR: Is it then that we are not going to die,
KHALIFA: "(Do you still believe) that we die,
037.059
Illa mawtatana al-oola wama nahnu bimuAAaththabeena
YUSUFALI: "Except our first death, and that we shall not be punished?"
PICKTHAL: Saving our former death, and are we not to be punished?
SHAKIR: Except our previous death? And we shall not be chastised?
KHALIFA: "only the first death, and we never receive any requital?"

Inna hatha lahuwa alfawzu alAAatheemu
YUSUFALI: Verily this is the supreme achievement!
PICKTHAL: Lo! this is the supreme triumph.
SHAKIR: Most surely this is the mighty achievement.
KHALIFA: Such is the greatest triumph.

Limithli hatha falyaAAmali alAAamiloona
YUSUFALI: For the like of this let all strive, who wish to strive.
PICKTHAL: For the like of this, then, let the workers work.
SHAKIR: For the like of this then let the workers work.
KHALIFA: This is what every worker should work for.

Athalika khayrun nuzulan am shajaratu alzzaqqoomi
YUSUFALI: Is that the better entertainment or the Tree of Zaqqum?
PICKTHAL: Is this better as a welcome, or the tree of Zaqqum?
SHAKIR: Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum?
KHALIFA: Is this a better destiny, or the tree of bitterness?

Inna jaAAalnaha fitnatan lilththalimeena
YUSUFALI: For We have truly made it (as) a trial for the wrong-doers.
PICKTHAL: Lo! We have appointed it a torment for wrong-doers.
SHAKIR: Surely We have made it to be a trial to the unjust.
KHALIFA: We have rendered it a punishment for the transgressors.

Innaha shajaratun takhruju fee asli aljaheemi
YUSUFALI: For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-Fire:
PICKTHAL: Lo! it is a tree that springeth in the heart of hell.
SHAKIR: Surely it is a tree that-grows in the bottom of the hell;
KHALIFA: It is a tree that grows in the heart of Hell.

TalAAuha kaannahu ruoosu alshshayateeni
YUSUFALI: The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of devils:
PICKTHAL: Its crop is as it were the heads of devils
SHAKIR: Its produce is as it were the heads of the serpents.
KHALIFA: Its flowers look like the devils' heads.
037.066
Fa-innahum laakiloona minha famali-oona minha albutoona
YUSUFALI: Truly they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith.
PICKTHAL: And lo! they verily must eat thereof, and fill (their) bellies therewith.
SHAKIR: Then most surely they shall eat of it and fill (their) bellies with it.
KHALIFA: They will eat from it until their bellies are filled up.
037.067
Thumma inna lahum AAalayha lashawban min hameemin
YUSUFALI: Then on top of that they will be given a mixture made of boiling water.
PICKTHAL: And afterward, lo! thereupon they have a drink of boiling water
SHAKIR: Then most surely they shall have after it to drink of a mixture prepared in
boiling water.
KHALIFA: Then they will top it with a hellish drink.
037.068
Thumma inna marjiAAahum la-ila aljaheemi
YUSUFALI: Then shall their return be to the (Blazing) Fire.
PICKTHAL: And afterward, lo! their return is surely unto hell.
SHAKIR: Then most surely their return shall be to hell.
KHALIFA: Then they will return to Hell.

Innahum alfaw abaahum dalleena
YUSUFALI: Truly they found their fathers on the wrong Path;
PICKTHAL: They indeed found their fathers astray,
SHAKIR: Surely they found their fathers going astray,
KHALIFA: They found their parents astray.

Fahum AAala atharihim yuhraAAoona
YUSUFALI: So they (too) were rushed down on their footsteps!
PICKTHAL: But they make haste (to follow) in their footsteps.
SHAKIR: So in their footsteps they are being hastened on.
KHALIFA: And they blindly followed in their footsteps.

Walaqad dalla qablahum aktharu al-awwaleena
YUSUFALI: And truly before them, many of the ancients went astray;-
PICKTHAL: And verily most of the men of old went astray before them,
SHAKIR: And certainly most of the ancients went astray before them,
KHALIFA: Most of the previous generations have strayed in the same manner.

Walaqad arsalna feehim munthireena
YUSUFALI: But We sent aforetime, among them, (messengers) to admonish them;-
PICKTHAL: And verily We sent among them warners.
SHAKIR: And certainly We sent among them warners.
KHALIFA: We have sent to them warners.

Faonthur kayfa kana AAaqibatu almunthareena
YUSUFALI: Then see what was the end of those who were admonished (but heeded not),-
PICKTHAL: Then see the nature of the consequence for those warned,

YUSUFALI: Except the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah.
PICKTHAL: Save single-minded slaves of Allah.
SHAKIR: Except the servants of Allah, the purified ones.
KHALIFA: Only GOD's servants who are absolutely devoted to Him alone (are saved).

Walaqad nadana noohun falaniAAma almujeeboona
YUSUFALI: (In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear
prayer.
PICKTHAL: And Noah verily prayed unto Us, and gracious was the Hearer of his prayer
SHAKIR: And Nuh did certainly call upon Us, and most excellent answerer of prayer are We.
KHALIFA: Thus, Noah called upon us, and we were the best responders.

Wanajjaynahu waahlahu mina alkarbi alAAatheemi
YUSUFALI: And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity,
PICKTHAL: And We saved him and his household from the great distress,
SHAKIR: And We delivered him and his followers from the mighty distress.
KHALIFA: We saved him and his family from the great disaster.

WajaAAalna thurriyyatahu humu albaqeena
YUSUFALI: And made his progeny to endure (on this earth);
PICKTHAL: And made his seed the survivors,
SHAKIR: And We made his offspring the survivors.

YUSUFALI: And We left (this blessing) for him among generations to come in later times:

YUSUFALI: Then the rest we overwhelmed in the Flood.
PICKTHAL: Then We did drown the others.

YUSUFALI: Verily among those who followed his Way was Abraham.
PICKTHAL: And lo! of his persuasion verily was Abraham
SHAKIR: And most surely Ibrahim followed his way.

YUSUFALI: Behold! he approached his Lord with a sound heart.
PICKTHAL: When he came unto his Lord with a whole heart;

YUSUFALI: Behold! he said to his father and to his people, "What is that which ye

SHAKIR: Then he looked at the stars, looking up once,

YUSUFALI: And he said, "I am indeed sick (at heart)!"
PICKTHAL: Then said: Lo! I feel sick!
SHAKIR: Then he said: Surely I am sick (of your worshipping these).

YUSUFALI: So they turned away from him, and departed.
PICKTHAL: And they turned their backs and went away from him.
SHAKIR: So they went away from him, turning back.

YUSUFALI: Then did he turn to their gods and said, "will ye not eat (of the offerings
before you)?...
PICKTHAL: Then turned he to their gods and said: Will ye not eat?
SHAKIR: Then he turned aside to their gods secretly and said: What! do you not eat?
KHALIFA: He then turned on their idols, saying, "Would you like to eat?

YUSUFALI: "What is the matter with you that ye speak not (intelligently)?"
PICKTHAL: What aileth you that ye speak not?
SHAKIR: What is the matter with you that you do not speak?
KHALIFA: "Why do you not speak?"

Faragha AAalayhim darban bialyameeni
YUSUFALI: Then did he turn upon them, striking (them) with the right hand.
PICKTHAL: Then he attacked them, striking with his right hand.
SHAKIR: Then he turned against them secretly, smiting them with the right hand.
KHALIFA: He then destroyed them.

Faaqbaloo ilayhi yaziffoona
YUSUFALI: Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him).
PICKTHAL: And (his people) came toward him, hastening.
SHAKIR: So they (people) advanced towards him, hastening.
KHALIFA: They went to him in a great rage.

Qala ataAAbudoona ma tanhitoona
YUSUFALI: He said: "Worship ye that which ye have (yourselves) carved?
PICKTHAL: He said: Worship ye that which ye yourselves do carve
SHAKIR: Said he: What! do you worship what you hew out?
KHALIFA: He said, "How can you worship what you carve?

WaAllahu khalaqakum wama taAAmaloona
YUSUFALI: "But Allah has created you and your handwork!"
PICKTHAL: When Allah hath created you and what ye make?
SHAKIR: And Allah has created you and what you make.
KHALIFA: "When GOD has created you, and everything you make!"

Qaloo ibnoo lahu bunyanan faalqoohu fee aljaheemi
YUSUFALI: They said, "Build him a furnace, and throw him into the blazing fire!"
PICKTHAL: They said: Build for him a building and fling him in the red-hotfire.
SHAKIR: They said: Build for him a furnace, then cast him into the burning fire.
KHALIFA: They said, "Let us build a great fire, and throw him into it."

Faaradoo bihi kaydan fajaAAalnahumu al-asfaleena
YUSUFALI: (This failing), they then sought a stratagem against him, but We made them the
ones most humiliated!
PICKTHAL: And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost.
SHAKIR: And they desired a war against him, but We brought them low.
KHALIFA: They schemed against him, but we made them the losers.

Waqala innee thahibun ila rabbee sayahdeeni
YUSUFALI: He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me!
PICKTHAL: And he said: Lo! I am going unto my Lord Who will guide me.
SHAKIR: And he said: Surely I fly to my lord; He will guide me.
KHALIFA: He said, "I am going to my Lord; He will guide me."

YUSUFALI: "O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (son)!"
PICKTHAL: My Lord! Vouchsafe me of the righteous.
SHAKIR: My Lord! grant me of the doers of good deeds.

Fabashsharnahu bighulamin haleemin
YUSUFALI: So We gave him the good news of a boy ready to suffer and forbear.
PICKTHAL: So We gave him tidings of a gentle son.
SHAKIR: So We gave him the good news of a boy, possessing forbearance.
KHALIFA: We gave him good news of a good child.

Falamma balagha maAAahu alssaAAya qala ya bunayya
innee ara fee almanami annee athbahuka faonthur
matha tara qala ya abati ifAAal ma tu/maru
satajidunee in shaa Allahu mina alssabireena
YUSUFALI: Then, when (the son) reached (the age of) (serious) work with him, he said:
"O my son! I see in vision that I offer thee in sacrifice: Now see what is thy
view!" (The son) said: "O my father! Do as thou art commanded: thou will find
me, if Allah so wills one practising Patience and Constancy!"
PICKTHAL: And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear
son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He
said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of
the steadfast.
SHAKIR: And when he attained to working with him, he said: O my son! surely I have seen in
a dream that I should sacrifice you; consider then what you see. He said: O my father! do
what you are commanded; if Allah please, you will find me of the patient ones.
KHALIFA: When he grew enough to work with him, he said, "My son, I see in a dream
that I am sacrificing you. What do you think?" He said, "O my father, do what
you are commanded to do. You will find me, GOD willing, patient."

Falamma aslama watallahu liljabeeni
YUSUFALI: So when they had both submitted their wills (to Allah), and he had laid him
prostrate on his forehead (for sacrifice),
PICKTHAL: Then, when they had both surrendered (to Allah), and he had flung him down upon
his face,
SHAKIR: So when they both submitted and he threw him down upon his forehead,
KHALIFA: They both submitted, and he put his forehead down (to sacrifice him).

Wanadaynahu an ya ibraheemu
YUSUFALI: We called out to him "O Abraham!
PICKTHAL: We called unto him: O Abraham!
SHAKIR: And We called out to him saying: O Ibrahim!

Qad saddaqta alrru/ya inna kathalika najzee
almuhsineena
YUSUFALI: "Thou hast already fulfilled the vision!" - thus indeed do We reward
those who do right.
PICKTHAL: Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good.
SHAKIR: You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers
of good:
KHALIFA: "You have believed the dream." We thus reward the righteous.

Inna hatha lahuwa albalao almubeenu
YUSUFALI: For this was obviously a trial-
PICKTHAL: Lo! that verily was a clear test.
SHAKIR: Most surely this is a manifest trial.
KHALIFA: That was an exacting test indeed.

Wafadaynahu bithibhin AAatheemin
YUSUFALI: And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice:
PICKTHAL: Then We ransomed him with a tremendous victim.
SHAKIR: And We ransomed him with a Feat sacrifice.
KHALIFA: We ransomed (Ismail) by substituting an animal sacrifice.

YUSUFALI: And We gave him the good news of Isaac - a prophet,- one of the Righteous.
PICKTHAL: And we gave him tidings of the birth of Isaac, a prophet of the righteous.
SHAKIR: And We gave him the good news of Ishaq, a prophet among the good ones.
KHALIFA: Then we gave him the good news about the birth of Isaac, to be one of the
righteous prophets.

Wabarakna AAalayhi waAAala ishaqa wamin thurriyyatihima
muhsinun wathalimun linafsihi mubeenun
YUSUFALI: We blessed him and Isaac: but of their progeny are (some) that do right, and
(some) that obviously do wrong, to their own souls.
PICKTHAL: And We blessed him and Isaac. And of their seed are some who do good, and some
who plainly wrong themselves.
SHAKIR: And We showered Our blessings on him and on Ishaq; and of their offspring are the
doers of good, and (also) those who are clearly unjust to their own souls.
KHALIFA: We blessed him and Isaac. Among their descendants, some are righteous, and some
are wicked transgressors.

Walaqad mananna AAala moosa waharoona
YUSUFALI: Again (of old) We bestowed Our favour on Moses and Aaron,
PICKTHAL: And We verily gave grace unto Moses and Aaron,
SHAKIR: And certainly We conferred a favor on Musa and Haroun.
KHALIFA: We also blessed Moses and Aaron.

YUSUFALI: And We delivered them and their people from (their) Great Calamity;

YUSUFALI: And We helped them, so they overcame (their troubles);

Waataynahuma alkitaba almustabeena
YUSUFALI: And We gave them the Book which helps to make things clear;

SHAKIR: And We gave them both the Book that made (things) clear.

YUSUFALI: And We guided them to the Straight Way.

YUSUFALI: So also was Elias among those sent (by Us).
PICKTHAL: And lo! Elias was of those sent (to warn),
SHAKIR: And Ilyas was most surely of the messengers.

YUSUFALI: Behold, he said to his people, "Will ye not fear (Allah)?
PICKTHAL: When he said unto his folk: Will ye not ward off (evil)?

KHALIFA: He said to his people, "Would you not work righteousness?

KHALIFA: "Do you worship a statue, instead of the Supreme Creator?

Allaha rabbakum warabba aba-ikumu al-awwaleena
YUSUFALI: "Allah, your Lord and Cherisher and the Lord and Cherisher of your fathers
of old?"
PICKTHAL: Allah, your Lord and Lord of your forefathers?
SHAKIR: Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of yore?
KHALIFA: "GOD; your Lord, and the Lord of your forefathers!"

Fakaththaboohu fa-innahum lamuhdaroona
YUSUFALI: But they rejected him, and they will certainly be called up (for
punishment),-
PICKTHAL: But they denied him, so they surely will be haled forth (to the doom)
SHAKIR: But they called him a liar, therefore they shall most surely be brought up.
KHALIFA: They disbelieved him. Consequently, they had to be called to account.

YUSUFALI: Behold, We delivered him and his adherents, all
PICKTHAL: When We saved him and his household, every one,

Illa AAajoozan fee alghabireena
YUSUFALI: Except an old woman who was among those who lagged behind:
PICKTHAL: Save an old woman among those who stayed behind;
SHAKIR: Except an old woman (who was) amongst those who tarried.
KHALIFA: Only the old woman was doomed.

Thumma dammarna al-akhareena
YUSUFALI: Then We destroyed the rest.
PICKTHAL: Then We destroyed the others.
SHAKIR: Then We destroyed the others.
KHALIFA: We annihilated all the others.

Wa-innakum latamurroona AAalayhim musbiheena
YUSUFALI: Verily, ye pass by their (sites), by day-
PICKTHAL: And lo! ye verily pass by (the ruin of) them in the morning
SHAKIR: And most surely you pass by them in the morning,
KHALIFA: You still pass by their ruins by day.

YUSUFALI: And by night: will ye not understand?
PICKTHAL: And at night-time; have ye then no sense?
SHAKIR: And at night; do you not then understand?

YUSUFALI: So also was Jonah among those sent (by Us).
PICKTHAL: And lo! Jonah verily was of those sent (to warn)
SHAKIR: And Yunus was most surely of the messengers.

Ith abaqa ila alfulki almashhooni
YUSUFALI: When he ran away (like a slave from captivity) to the ship (fully) laden,
PICKTHAL: When he fled unto the laden ship,
SHAKIR: When he ran away to a ship completely laden,
KHALIFA: He escaped to the loaded ship.

Fasahama fakana mina almudhadeena
YUSUFALI: He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was condemned:
PICKTHAL: And then drew lots and was of those rejected;
SHAKIR: So he shared (with them), but was of those who are cast off.
KHALIFA: He rebelled and thus, he joined the losers.

Failtaqamahu alhootu wahuwa muleemun
YUSUFALI: Then the big Fish did swallow him, and he had done acts worthy of blame.
PICKTHAL: And the fish swallowed him while he was blameworthy;
SHAKIR: So the fish swallowed him while he did that for which he blamed himself
KHALIFA: Consequently, the fish swallowed him, and he was the one to blame.

Falawla annahu kana mina almusabbiheena
YUSUFALI: Had it not been that he (repented and) glorified Allah,
PICKTHAL: And had he not been one of those who glorify (Allah)
SHAKIR: But had it not been that he was of those who glorify (Us),
KHALIFA: If it were not that he resorted to meditation (on God),

Lalabitha fee batnihi ila yawmi yubAAathoona
YUSUFALI: He would certainly have remained inside the Fish till the Day of Resurrection.
PICKTHAL: He would have tarried in its belly till the day when they are raised;
SHAKIR: He would certainly have tarried in its belly to the day when they are raised.
KHALIFA: he would have stayed in its belly until the Day of Resurrection.

Fanabathnahu bialAAara-i wahuwa saqeemun
YUSUFALI: But We cast him forth on the naked shore in a state of sickness,
PICKTHAL: Then We cast him on a desert shore while he was sick;
SHAKIR: Then We cast him on to the vacant surface of the earth while he was sick.
KHALIFA: We had him thrown up into the desert, exhausted.

Waanbatna AAalayhi shajaratan min yaqteenin
YUSUFALI: And We caused to grow, over him, a spreading plant of the gourd kind.
PICKTHAL: And We caused a tree of gourd to grow above him;
SHAKIR: And We caused to grow up for him a gourdplant.
KHALIFA: We had a tree of edible fruit grown for him.

Waarsalnahu ila mi-ati alfin aw yazeedoona
YUSUFALI: And We sent him (on a mission) to a hundred thousand (men) or more.
PICKTHAL: And We sent him to a hundred thousand (folk) or more
SHAKIR: And We sent him to a hundred thousand, rather they exceeded.
KHALIFA: Then we sent him to a hundred thousand, or more.

Faamanoo famattaAAnahum ila heenin
YUSUFALI: And they believed; so We permitted them to enjoy (their life) for a while.
PICKTHAL: And they believed, therefor We gave them comfort for a while.
SHAKIR: And they believed, so We gave them provision till a time.
KHALIFA: They did believe, and we let them enjoy this life.

Faistaftihim alirabbika albanatu walahumu albanoona
YUSUFALI: Now ask them their opinion: Is it that thy Lord has (only) daughters, and they
have sons?-
PICKTHAL: Now ask them (O Muhammad): Hath thy Lord daughters whereas they have sons?
SHAKIR: Then ask them whether your Lord has daughters and they have sons.
KHALIFA: Ask them if your Lord have daughters, while they have sons!

Am khalaqna almala-ikata inathan wahum shahidoona
YUSUFALI: Or that We created the angels female, and they are witnesses (thereto)?
PICKTHAL: Or created We the angels females while they were present?
SHAKIR: Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses?
KHALIFA: Did we create the angels to be females? Did they witness that?

Ala innahum min ifkihim layaqooloona
YUSUFALI: Is it not that they say, from their own invention,
PICKTHAL: Lo! it is of their falsehood that they say:
SHAKIR: Now surely it is of their own lie that they say:
KHALIFA: Indeed, they grossly blaspheme when they say -

Walada Allahu wa-innahum lakathiboona
YUSUFALI: "Allah has begotten children"? but they are liars!
PICKTHAL: Allah hath begotten. Allah! verily they tell a lie.
SHAKIR: Allah has begotten; and most surely they are liars.
KHALIFA: "GOD has begotten a son." Indeed, they are liars.

Astafa albanati AAala albaneena
YUSUFALI: Did He (then) choose daughters rather than sons?
PICKTHAL: (And again of their falsehood): He hath preferred daughters to sons.
SHAKIR: Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons?
KHALIFA: Did He choose the girls over the boys?

Ma lakum kayfa tahkumoona
YUSUFALI: What is the matter with you? How judge ye?
PICKTHAL: What aileth you? How judge ye?
SHAKIR: What is the matter with you, how is it that you judge?
KHALIFA: What is wrong with your logic?

Afala tathakkaroona
YUSUFALI: Will ye not then receive admonition?
PICKTHAL: Will ye not then reflect?
SHAKIR: Will you not then mind?
KHALIFA: Why do you not take heed?

Am lakum sultanun mubeenun
YUSUFALI: Or have ye an authority manifest?
PICKTHAL: Or have ye a clear warrant?
SHAKIR: Or have you a clear authority?
KHALIFA: Do you have any proof?
037.157
Fa/too bikitabikum in kuntum sadiqeena
YUSUFALI: Then bring ye your Book (of authority) if ye be truthful!
PICKTHAL: Then produce your writ, if ye are truthful.
SHAKIR: Then bring your book, if you are truthful.
KHALIFA: Show us your book, if you are truthful.
037.158
WajaAAaloo baynahu wabayna aljinnati nasaban walaqad AAalimati aljinnatu innahum
lamuhdaroona
YUSUFALI: And they have invented a blood-relationship between Him and the Jinns: but the
Jinns know (quite well) that they have indeed to appear (before his Judgment-Seat)!
PICKTHAL: And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well
that they will be brought before (Him).
SHAKIR: And they assert a relationship between Him and the jinn; and certainly the jinn do
know that they shall surely be brought up;
KHALIFA: They even invented a special relationship between Him and the jinns. The jinns
themselves know that they are subservient.
037.159
Subhana Allahi AAamma yasifoona
YUSUFALI: Glory to Allah! (He is free) from the things they ascribe (to Him)!
PICKTHAL: Glorified be Allah from that which they attribute (unto Him),
SHAKIR: Glory be to Allah (for freedom) from what they describe;
KHALIFA: GOD be glorified; far above their claims.

Illa AAibada Allahi almukhlaseena
YUSUFALI: Not (so do) the Servants of Allah, sincere and devoted.
PICKTHAL: Save single-minded slaves of Allah.
SHAKIR: But not so the servants of Allah, the purified ones.
KHALIFA: Only GOD's servants who are devoted to Him alone (are saved).
037.161
Fa-innakum wama taAAbudoona
YUSUFALI: For, verily, neither ye nor those ye worship-
PICKTHAL: Lo! verily, ye and that which ye worship,
SHAKIR: So surely you and what you worship,
KHALIFA: Indeed, you and what you worship.
037.162
Ma antum AAalayhi bifatineena
YUSUFALI: Can lead (any) into temptation concerning Allah,
PICKTHAL: Ye cannot excite (anyone) against Him.
SHAKIR: Not against Him can you cause (any) to fall into trial,
KHALIFA: Cannot impose anything on Him.

Illa man huwa sali aljaheemi
YUSUFALI: Except such as are (themselves) going to the blazing Fire!
PICKTHAL: Save him who is to burn in hell.
SHAKIR: Save him who will go to hell.
KHALIFA: Only you will burn in Hell.
037.164
Wama minna illa lahu maqamun maAAloomun
YUSUFALI: (Those ranged in ranks say): "Not one of us but has a place appointed;
PICKTHAL: There is not one of us but hath his known position.
SHAKIR: And there is none of us but has an assigned place,
KHALIFA: Each one of us has a specific job.

Wa-inna lanahnu alssaffoona
YUSUFALI: "And we are verily ranged in ranks (for service);
PICKTHAL: Lo! we, even we are they who set the ranks,
SHAKIR: And most surely we are they who draw themselves out in ranks,
KHALIFA: We are the arrangers.
037.166
Wa-inna lanahnu almusabbihoona
YUSUFALI: "And we are verily those who declare (Allah's) glory!"
PICKTHAL: Lo! we, even we are they who hymn His praise
SHAKIR: And we are most surely they who declare the glory (of Allah).
KHALIFA: We have duly glorified (our Lord).

Wa-in kanoo layaqooloona
YUSUFALI: And there were those who said,
PICKTHAL: And indeed they used to say:
SHAKIR: And surely they used to say:
KHALIFA: They used to say,

Law anna AAindana thikran mina al-awwaleena
YUSUFALI: "If only we had had before us a Message from those of old,
PICKTHAL: If we had but a reminder from the men of old
SHAKIR: Had we a reminder from those of yore,
KHALIFA: "Had we received the correct instructions from our parents,

Lakunna AAibada Allahi almukhlaseena
YUSUFALI: "We should certainly have been Servants of Allah, sincere (and
devoted)!"
PICKTHAL: We would be single-minded slaves of Allah.
SHAKIR: We would certainly have been the servants of Allah-- the purified ones.
KHALIFA: "we would have been worshipers; devoted to GOD alone."

Fakafaroo bihi fasawfa yaAAlamoona
YUSUFALI: But (now that the Qur'an has come), they reject it: But soon will they know!
PICKTHAL: Yet (now that it is come) they disbelieve therein; but they will come to know.
SHAKIR: But (now) they disbelieve in it, so they will come to know.
KHALIFA: But they disbelieved, and they will surely find out.

Walaqad sabaqat kalimatuna liAAibadina almursaleena
YUSUFALI: Already has Our Word been passed before (this) to our Servants sent (by Us),
PICKTHAL: And verily Our word went forth of old unto Our bondmen sent (to warn)
SHAKIR: And certainly Our word has already gone forth in respect of Our servants, the
messengers:
KHALIFA: Our decision is already decreed for our servants the messengers.
037.172
Innahum lahumu almansooroona
YUSUFALI: That they would certainly be assisted,
PICKTHAL: That they verily would be helped,
SHAKIR: Most surely they shall be the assisted ones
KHALIFA: They are surely the victors.
037.173
Wa-inna jundana lahumu alghaliboona
YUSUFALI: And that Our forces,- they surely must conquer.
PICKTHAL: And that Our host, they verily would be the victors.
SHAKIR: And most surely Our host alone shall be the victorious ones.
KHALIFA: Our soldiers are the winners.
037.174
Fatawalla AAanhum hatta heenin
YUSUFALI: So turn thou away from them for a little while,
PICKTHAL: So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) awhile,
SHAKIR: Therefore turn away from them till a time,
KHALIFA: So disregard them for awhile.
037.175
Waabsirhum fasawfa yubsiroona
YUSUFALI: And watch them (how they fare), and they soon shall see (how thou farest)!
PICKTHAL: And watch, for they will (soon) see.
SHAKIR: And (then) see them, so they too shall see.
KHALIFA: Watch them; they too will watch.

AfabiAAathabina yastaAAjiloona
YUSUFALI: Do they wish (indeed) to hurry on our Punishment?
PICKTHAL: Would they hasten on Our doom?
SHAKIR: What! would they then hasten on Our chastisement?
KHALIFA: Do they challenge our retribution?

Fa-itha nazala bisahatihim fasaa sabahu almunthareena
YUSUFALI: But when it descends into the open space before them, evil will be the morning
for those who were warned (and heeded not)!
PICKTHAL: But when it cometh home to them, then it will be a hapless morn for those who
have been warned.
SHAKIR: But when it shall descend in their court, evil shall then be the morning of the
warned ones.
KHALIFA: When it hits them one day, it will be a miserable day; they have been
sufficiently warned.

Watawalla AAanhum hatta heenin
YUSUFALI: So turn thou away from them for a little while,
PICKTHAL: Withdraw from them awhile
SHAKIR: And turn away from them till a time
KHALIFA: Disregard them for awhile.
037.179
Waabsir fasawfa yubsiroona
YUSUFALI: And watch (how they fare) and they soon shall see (how thou farest)!
PICKTHAL: And watch, for they will (soon) see.
SHAKIR: And (then) see, for they too shall see.
KHALIFA: Watch them; they too will watch.

Subhana rabbika rabbi alAAizzati AAamma yasifoona
YUSUFALI: Glory to thy Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they
ascribe (to Him)!
PICKTHAL: Glorified be thy Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they attribute (unto
Him)
SHAKIR: Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Honor, above what they describe.
KHALIFA: Glory be to your Lord, the great Lord; far above their claims.

Wasalamun AAala almursaleena
YUSUFALI: And Peace on the messengers!
PICKTHAL: And peace be unto those sent (to warn).
SHAKIR: And peace be on the messengers.
KHALIFA: Peace be upon the messengers.
037.182
Waalhamdu lillahi rabbi alAAalameena
YUSUFALI: And Praise to Allah, the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds.
PICKTHAL: And praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds!
SHAKIR: And all praise is due to
Allah, the Lord of the worlds.
KHALIFA: Praise be to GOD, Lord of the universe.
